The results of assessment of information and communication literacy at middle-school graduates of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug


From September 22 to October 05, 2014, the assessment of information and communication literacy at middle-school graduates of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug was conducted.

The assessment is organized by the Regional Center for Educational Quality Assessment of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The basis for the tool was the authors metodics and materials, developed in National Training Foundation - IC Literacy Test, enabling to assess  information and communication literacy of 9 grades students during the period of the introduction of the federal state general educational standard of basic general education, as well as identify the factors affecting the formation of IC literacy.

The tool also included the questionnaire for teachers wich was devoted to different aspects of using Information and communication technologies in teachers professional activities. The questionnaire let us compile information about the practices of ICT in the educational process, and also relate them to the level of IC literasy of students.

More than 5000 graduates of the basic school of all educational organizations of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug located in all 13 municipalities took part in the assessment, more than 1500 teachers were interviewed. The sample included those teachers who, according to the data provided by the Regional Center for Educational Quality Assessment of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, work in the classes that took part in testing. The teachers of the humanities and natural sciences were selected in equal proportions.
