Tigran Shmis, WorldBank

«We realized that the tool on IC literacy assessment is the project and the product with a huge potential because it includes innovative ideas. At the moment we’ve received the interesting, “well packed”, positively/highly appreciated product that passed an international expertise. It has a good chance to become an international tool for IC literacy assessment (not only for students but also for teachers). It also may become an instrument for developing an educational policy».

Victor Bolotov, Vice-President, Russian Academy of Education

«This instrument is not about computer literacy. The students can learn how to use a mouse without teachers. Вy the way, much faster than teachers can. But have they learned how to work with information? Have they learned how to manage and integrate information? Search for it? Retrieve it? Use it for their personal, not school classes needs? These questions are not easy to answer. From my point of view as well as many educators’ opinion, the team directed by Svetlana Avdeeva and Mark Zeelman managed to develop the product that can be used to assess different action programs. <…> For example, Belorussian colleagues are developing a digital educational resource, and they would like to check whether it changes something in students’ mentality, students’ ability to work with information. And this tool is definitely helpful in this situation. <…> Following the testing results education authorities are provided with   recommendations on how to enhance students’ skills to work with information. This is the essential skill for the 21st century! I think that the Avdeeva-Zelman’s team will be useful for everyone who is interested in preparing our students for life in the new century».
